Why do people fall sick?

There are 3 very big contributing factors that makes us sick today.  They are the Environment that we live in, the Lifestyle we lead and the Food & Water that we drink.  Sadly, we have no control over any of them.  Let's talk a little more details.

Environment
- Pollution.  The materials used to build urban towers are no longer made of natural wood.  The paint for walls are chemicals, the fabric we used around the house and offices are made of synthetic materials.  All these carry positively charged ions

- Climate change.  For the past 20 - 30 years, we have experienced global warming.  Temperature during the day is extremely hot while during the night, it dips.  This fluctuating temperature causes the blood vessels to dilate and constrict in order to maintain a stable body temperature.

Lifestyle
-  Stress.  Stress from work, family, finances, children's education...
-  Long working hours
-  Electrical appliances.  Computers, television, radio, hi-fi systems, mobile phones, air conditioners, fans, refridgerators, hair dryers, air-ionizers, infra-red beds, lights, and any other appliances which need to be plug into a electrical socket. All these emit positively charged particles in the air and some caused radiation/electromagnetic waves.  Free radicals (also known as positive ions) are well documented to cause ageing to our cells.  Imagine the cells in our blood vessels are oxidized by aging, it hardens and get blocked.  Ischaemic heart disease occurs!  Heart disease is the 2nd killer in Singapore.  Cancer being No.1.

Food/Water
-  Chemical pesticides
-  Chemical acidity.  The most widely used component in food preparation is MSG (monosodium glutamate).  I believe if anyone googles abt MSG, it shows that it is closely linked with cancer and heart diseases.  Everyone Singaporean loves chicken rice.  It tastes really good and of course, it's loaded with MSG.  From the chilli to the ginger paste that comes with the dish.

Let us look at the Top 10 Causes of Death in Singapore (those highlighted in colour are closely related to oxidation or ageing of our cells)
1.  Cancer
2.  Ischaemic Heart Diseases
3.  Pneumonia
4.  Cerebrovascular diseases (including stroke)
5.  Accidents, poisoning, violence
6.  Other heart diseases
7.  Urinary tract infections
8.  Chronic Obstructive heart diseases
9.  Nephritis and other kidney related diseases
10.  Diabetes Mellitus

Before we talk about the role of negative ions play in the recovery of the above illnesses, let's see where can we find negative ions in our environment.

Natural Waterfalls - 50,000 ions / cc of air
Mountain or seaside - 5,000 ions / cc of air
Suburbs or fields - 700 - 1,500 ions / cc of air
City park - 400 - 600 ions / cc of air
Street side trees - 100 - 200 ions / cc of air
Rooms in city - 40 - 50 ions / cc of air
Rooms with aircon - 0 -25 ions / cc of air

According to Asian Medical Journal, if the anount of negative ions in the air is:
*  1,000 - 2,000 ions / cc - it's good for your health

*  5,000 - 50,000 ions / cc - we are able to strengthen our resistence and improve immunity

*  100,000 - 500,000 ions / cc - it helps our bodies to self-heal and overcome the chronic illnesses.

Our body's largest organ is our skin.  We are able to absorb 85% of negative ions through our skin and only 15% through breathing.  Therefore, our bodies can absorb 100% of negative ions if we wear Teviron garments.

How does negative ions help in overcoming illnesses? The following 4 points may seem simple but when the body is not in balance, it does create havoc.

1.  Purify the blood
-  Increase oxygen capacity of red blood cells.
-  Increase calcium level in blood, the most important mineral needed by the body.
-  Activate macrophage to purify the blood.  Macrophages 'eat' big molecules of waste (eg. lipids and cholesterol) in our body and the waste is eliminated through our liver.

2  Rejuvenate the cell
-  Increase cell membrane permeability
-  Promote oxygen absorption by the cells
-  Facilitate substance exchange across cell membrane.  Nutrients can enter the cells, waste can exit the cells for elimination.

3.  Strengthen Immunity
-  Enhance skin regeneration and defense
-  Enhance cilia movement
-  Strengthen the sterilizing function of the second-line defense (Macrophages and Natural Killer Cells).  Natural Killer cells scout and hunt down pre-cancer and cancer cells to stop them from proliferating.
-  Supplement specific defense system (B cells and T cells)

4.  Balance Autonomic Nervous System
-  Negative ions inhibit sympathetic nerve and stimulate parasympathetic nerve
-  Increase blood calcium concentration and facilitate conduction between neurons

Now here comes the interesting part.  The role which negative ions play to overcome the dreadful diseases.

1.  Cardiovascular diseases
Causes:
*  Aging of blood vessels walls
*  HIgh concentration of cholesterol and lipids

How negative ions help:
*  Rejuvenate smooth muscle cells in vessel walls
*  Purify the blood to restore normal blood pH

2.  Diabetes
Cause:
*  When pathological changes happen to the pancreas, insulin cannot be secreted normally. Blood sugar cannot be consumed evenly and it's level will go up.

How negative ions help:
*  Stimulate pancreas to secrete insulin to relieve symptoms and prevent deterioration

3.  Tumors
Causes:
*  Free radicals grab an electron from the cell membrane or nucleus and make the cell oxidized
*  The oxidized cell becomes a free radical and grabs an electron from another cell, which creates a chain reaction.

How negative ions help:
*  Negative ions have an extra electron, which can be given to the unpaired Free radical, to make it stable
*  Enhance immunity for Natural Killer cells to destroy the cancer cells
